We are startled by the beginning of Acts 5. Such a display of holy discipline usually startles. We are lulled into a sense of utopia in Acts 4, with healings and sharing and fellowship. And then, Ananias first falls dead, then Sapphira. Fear sweeps over the early Church, as it should. We are startled with the swiftness and suddenness. But we must know that both blasting and blessing come from the same hand and heart of God.
