This issue about taking care of widows and their food distribution in the early Church was not about competition or worthiness. It was the real dilemma of meeting the sometimes unforeseen needs of a growing faith movement with wisdom and grace. Serving the widows was no less important than serving the people with the Word of God. Both needed to be done. And both needed the right people doing their part in the ministry of the Kingdom.
